Working with the Community
Kyabram & District Health Services (KDHS) recieves an enormous ammount of support from our local Community. Through the generosity of various community groups, individuals and businesses ensures patients at KDHS can enjoy the comfort of modern facilities, equipment and exceptional staff.

Each year several fundraising events and activities are held to guarantee a quality health service is maintained, such as the Murray to Moyne bike ride, Trivia Night and KDHS Community Event.

Murray to Moyne is an annual cycling event where teams ride in relay to raise money for local hospitals. In April 2008 14 riders representing KDHS rode 520 km from Echuca to Port Fairy, raising funds to purchase much needed equipment for Sheridan. These included a mobile vital signs machine, pressure relieving reclining mobile chair and a mechanical pressure relieving mattress.

The 2007 Community Event boasted produce stalls, crafts and nick-nacks. In keeping with the tradition of providing a family night there was a jumping castle, mini golf, face painting amongst other activities to amuse the children, whilst dance demonstrations entertained those who wanted to relax prior to the inaugural 'Great Bed Race'. Many staff and community members participated working their way around an obstacle course. The teams consisted of 1 patient and a maximum of 4 pushers, speed was not a necessity however innovation and astuteness were definitely the key to success as the Kyabram Cricket Club will attest too.

The event was used to raise the community's awareness of KDHS and all that we offer.
