Life at Sheridan

We welcome your family and friends at any time. This gives you and your loved one flexibility. Children are especially welcome.

It is important that you are able to maintain your lifestyle needs and interests, whilst living at Sheridan.

You are free to consume alcohol. It is expected that residents who choose to consume alcohol will not affect their own or other residents safety and wellbeing.

If you are a smoker you be assessed by the Nurse in Charge and safe arrangements to provide an outside designated smoking area and protocol may be arranged.

An individual program will be designed for you, to include your interests, special needs and preferences.

A full range of activities is offered to you, examples are:

  • Games – cards, bingo, quizzes, bocce
  • Sing-a-longs

  • Morning tea groups

  • School groups visit

  • Exercise sessions

  • Happy hour
  • Inter-denominational church

Outings

We have a small bus, which is regularly utilized. Typical outings include:

  • Concerts
  • Picnics
  • Shopping
  • A drive

Suggestions for activities and outings are encouraged.

Services provided

Library: A Library Service, including talking books, can be arranged

Laundry: A full laundry service is provided for you. This service will wash all clothing that can be washed in a standard hot machine cycle and tumble dried. Items such as woollens that require special care in washing are the responsibility of your family.

Hairdressing: A hairdresser visits Sheridan on a monthly basis or by arrangement. Set fees are charged for this service, for which you are responsible. Alternatively, you may like to have your own hairdresser visit.

Dental: A dental van visits
