Starting to take shape

Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) is delivering a new, purpose-built Education and Training Centre at its Kyabram campus, representing a $2.16 million investment in the local health workforce. The project is supported by funding from the Commonwealth Government, along with a generous $300,000 contribution from a private donor.

The centre has been designed to strengthen clinical education and professional development for nurses, students, and other health professionals across the region. Once complete, it will enhance KDHS’s ability to support workforce capability, sustainability, and high-quality patient care.

The 320 square metre facility will include three dedicated training spaces with capacity for up to 60 participants, as well as smaller breakout rooms for one-on-one or small group learning. These spaces will also provide flexible office and facilitation areas. The project includes modern clinical training equipment to support hands-on, simulation-based learning.

Construction has progressed well, with key early works completed, including the rerouting of fire mains and installation of underground services. The project has now moved into the next phase, with preparation and forming of the concrete slab underway, followed by structural works.

The design and construction is being delivered by a local consortium, supporting regional industry and employment. The new Education and Training Centre will reduce the need for staff to travel for essential training and will support partnerships with universities, TAFEs, and other education providers.

KDHS thanks the community for its ongoing interest and support. Further updates will be shared as the project continues to progress.
