The Victorian Minister for Health, Mary-Anne Thomas, visited Kyabram District Health Service on 28th March, 2024 to announce the $4.5 million grant we have received. Her visit marked a celebration of this funding and the impact this investment will have on KDHS

The Minister, led by Anne McEvoy (KDHS CEO), Chris Motton (Board Chair) and Meredith Hodder (Director of Clinical Services), also toured our facilities and chatted with staff about working in regional and rural health care.

“Today, we’ve had an opportunity to see the very real change that our government’s ongoing investment into this health service has made to the facilities, and that the facilities are really quite second to none,” said the Minister.

The grant is part of the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund, and enables a $4.5 million redevelopment of our Theatre Department and Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), ensuring compliance with sterilization standard AS 5369, elevating our commitment to safety and quality in surgical services.

The redevelopment of our CSSD will enable KDHS to commission a procedure room. The funding also allows our surgical service to expand and continue to contribute to reducing wait times for elective procedures and provide timely care for our community closer to their home and support network.
The funding will aid our work to deliver accessible, coordinated healthcare to Kyabram and surround communities.
