We are excited to announce that Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) will be leading the Murray sub-region Disability Liaison Officer Project in partnership with:

  • Echuca Regional Health
  • Rochester and Elmore District Health Service
  • Cohuna District Hospital
  • Kerang District Health
  • Northern District Community Health
  • Vivid
  • Community Living and Respite Services
  • Kyabram Community and Learning Centre

The project will assist people with a disability to access COVID-19 information, testing, vaccination and assistance if they receive a positive test or need to self-isolate. This includes helping individuals access in-home vaccinations. The project will also assist clients in creating a Health Passport.

Kerrie Reardon will be coordinating the project for the sub-region with Candy Fanning being the KDHS Disability Liaison Officer and Chris McCormick as the Administrative Support Officer. Both Kerrie and Candy have substantial experience working in the disability sector and are very enthusiastic to commence in their new roles. Kerrie says “All people should have equitable access to health support. We are looking forward to working with the local community”.

The project is funded by the Victorian Government until 30 June 2022 so the team are already off and running with Candy successfully assisting her first client to get a COVID-19 vaccination booster.
