Celebrating the What We Can Do Group, creating change, building confidence and breaking down barriers!

The What We Can Do Group is a local peer support network in Kyabram empowering people living with disability, challenging stereotypes and showing our community what is possible.

For almost four years, this incredible group has been creating positive change by:
✨ Advocating for better accessibility across local businesses and community spaces
✨ Supporting members to build confidence, independence and new skills
✨ Ensuring the voices of people with disability are heard in our community

From working alongside local businesses to improve accessibility, to celebrating personal achievements and new independence milestones, the group continues to inspire and make a difference.

The group is also actively involved in community events, including International Day of People with Disability celebrations, creating opportunities for people to connect, share experiences and learn from each other.

A big part of their journey is community connection and fundraising. Working alongside KCLC, the What We Can Do Group attends the Container Deposit Scheme to sort, count and input data to raise funds for their group activities. With generous support from the local Lions Club, who donate large collections of items to be sorted, this highly motivated team sorts more than 4,000 items each session!

We’re proud to support the What We Can Do Group and celebrate the leadership, courage and determination of its members. Together, they are proving that inclusion benefits everyone.
