Overview

KDHS provides a comprehensive range of Acute and Extended Care Services to people of all ages.

KDHS is located in the township of Kyabram, in the heart of the Goulburn Valley. KDHS services a township population of approximately 7,300 people. We provide high quality, compassionate, efficient, affordable and accessible person-centered care.

The KDHS Graduate Nurse Program is designed to facilitate the transition from student to confident and competent Registered Nurse so that the Graduate Nurse can develop and maintain an effective role in the delivery of care.

This outcome is achieved with:

  • Support provided by the Graduate Nurse Educators.
  • Preceptors.
  • Nurse Unit Managers.
  • Study days.
  • Structured feedback.

Rotations are conducted within the following Clinical Areas:

  • Acute Care, including Urgent Care
  • Aged Care, incorporating Nursing Fundamentals and Leadership
  • Perioperative Services including Day Procedure Unit, Theatre and Recovery
  • District Nursing

Our program commences on the 29th January 2024 and is based over 52 weeks.

Program Content

The Graduate Nursing Program includes the following:

  • Comprehensive Orientation Program.
  • Paid study leave days
  • Completion of a Clinical Project of special interest by the 10th month of the program
  • Formal training in BLS & IV Cannulation

How to Apply

Graduate Nurses must be part of the PMCV Computer Match System to be eligible for entry into the KDHS Graduate Nurse Program.

Please add Kyabram District Health Service as a preference on PMCV by Friday 6th October
