Medical Day Unit

Our Medical Day Unit is co-located with our Oncology Day Unit and provides day stay treatments such as infusions, blood transfusions and venesections.

Referrals are accepted for day admissions for infusions and blood transfusions from Medical Officers who are credentialed to admit to KDHS.

Venesections are conducted as an outpatient and referrals are accepted from any GP

There are no charges for outpatients or public patients and you may also elect to use your Private Health Insurance with ‘no gap’ payable.

Our Client Services Team will discuss your options with you on the day of your treatment.

How to refer your patient for an infusion or blood transfusion

Referral information should include:

• Referral or Letter of Request including Medical History and Medication List
• Appropriate forms such as Blood Transfusion Pack, Ferinject Pathway, Zoledronic Acid Pack, IV Fluids Orders as relevant (if you do not have the correct forms available at your practice please contact us on 58570298 to arrange access to them)

How to refer your patient for a venesection

Referrals for venesection can be delivered in person to the Main Reception or via fax or post to:
