About Us

For generations, Kyabram has been a community that looks after its own, and Kyabram District Health Service is proud to be part of that story.

Our health service has grown alongside Kyabram. From the establishment of the Kyabram Bush Nursing Hospital in 1933, to the opening of the Kyabram & District Memorial Community Hospital in 1960, our community has always played an important part in making local healthcare possible.

In 1959, the district came together to raise £10,000 for equipment and furnishings. The community’s generosity exceeded all expectations, raising an incredible £12,765, a wonderful reflection of the spirit, generosity and determination that has always been at the heart of Kyabram.

That spirit of giving continues today, with the opening of our new Education and Training Centre planned for early 2027. This milestone will create exciting opportunities for education, training and community engagement, while also providing new opportunities for fundraising and community support to help shape the future of local healthcare.

Today, KDHS continues that tradition of caring for our community, providing a broad range of acute, perioperative, primary health, aged care and community services to support people across Kyabram and the surrounding district.

As the town of Kyabram celebrates 150 years, we celebrate the people who have shaped our town, the generations who have called it home, and the community spirit that continues to make Kyabram such a special place. We also recognise and thank our dedicated staff, Board, volunteers and VMOs for their unwavering commitment to caring for our community, now and into the future.

Caring. Versatile. Collaborative. Inclusive. Accountable.

These are our values, and they reflect the community we are proud to serve.
